About Anna Lou
Since her graduation from the London Contemporary Dance School, she has been involved in independent creative collaborations, project and established dance companies.
She spent two seasons with the Kamea Dance Company in Israel, rehearsing and touring across the country both repertoire and new creations, along with teaching workshops for the company. After which she returned to freelancing, with the creation and performances of a children's show (“The Selfish Giant”, with the Youth Theatre of Beersheva, Israel), a highly physical dance theatre show (“The Glass House”, with Dance Ahead, Carlisle, UK) or more recently, worked with the Welsh National Opera on their new creation of “Carmen”.
As a dance artist she is particularly enthused by exploring both the audience and the performers physical and emotional journey: excited by technical challenges of high standard choreographies and committed to delivering an appropriate and genuine interpretation. She finds that this thorough and deep approach to dance allows each performer to develop as an artist and person and to create a real sense of communication with the audience.
